Position Overview:

As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for multiple clients, ensuring that all transactions are properly recorded, payroll is processed on time, and clients receive the best support for their financial needs. You will work with QuickBooks to manage day-to-day financial tasks, provide reports, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will also be expected to travel to St. Joseph, IL as needed, for in-person meetings or work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage general bookkeeping duties, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and maintaining accurate ledgers.
• Process payroll for multiple clients, ensuring all deductions and withholdings are accurate and submitted on time.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and summaries for clients.
• Utilize QuickBooks to track expenses, generate invoices, and manage other financial transactions.
• Handle multiple client accounts simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate service for all.
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial information, resolve discrepancies, and answer queries.
• Assist with tax preparation by organizing financial records and preparing relevant documentation for tax filings.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (desktop and online versions).
• Solid understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and general bookkeeping practices.
• Experience managing multiple clients and juggling competing priorities.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to St. Joseph, IL for work
• Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred, but not required.
• QuickBooks certification is a plus.
