This role leads all formal design QA/QC peer reviews at Design Development (DD), Issued for Construction (IFC), and As-Built stages, ensuring design deliverables are accurate, compliant, and aligned with enterprise security standards. The DQM will prepare milestone QA reports, manage design assurance interfaces with consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders, and act as the global authority for design quality governance within the physical security program.

Responsibilities

  • Formal Peer Reviews: Lead structured QA/QC reviews of physical security design packages (access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, monitoring systems) at DD, IFC, and As-Built phases.
  • Milestone QA Reports: Develop and deliver design QA reports at each milestone, documenting findings, risks, corrective actions, and approvals.
  • Design Assurance Interface: Act as the central point of contact for design quality between global security program leadership, consultants, contractors, and regional teams.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to global physical security standards, industry codes, and client-specific requirements.
  • Issue Identification & Resolution: Detect design gaps, conflicts, or risks early; coordinate corrective actions with design engineers, project managers, and integrators.
  • QA/QC Governance: Define and enforce standardized design review processes and templates for consistency across all global projects.
  • Documentation Oversight: Maintain comprehensive records of QA/QC reviews, comments, resolutions, and approvals to support audit-ability and compliance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Regional and Site Technical Project Managers to ensure design quality is maintained through execution and commissioning phases.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive lessons-learned sessions and recommend improvements to design QA processes for future projects.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture, Security Systems, or related field required; Masters preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years in design quality management, QA/QC, or engineering assurance roles.
    • Direct experience reviewing and assuring physical security system designs for data centers, large offices, or mission-critical facilities.
    • Familiarity with multi-discipline coordination (architectural, structural, MEP, and security technology systems).

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in design review tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or similar).
    • Strong knowledge of security system design standards and installation practices.
    • Familiarity with construction QA/QC methodologies and design governance processes.

  • Certifications:
    • ASIS certifications (PSP, CPP) preferred.
    • PMP or ASQ quality certifications are a plus.

  • Core Skills:
    • Strong facilitation skills to lead cross-discipline design reviews.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication for producing reports and guiding stakeholder discussions.
    • Detail-driven with the ability to balance technical rigor and executive-level reporting.

Key Attributes
  • Confident leader in design quality, capable of managing reviews across regions and cultures.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and constructibility.
  • Skilled in managing complex stakeholder groups, including security integrators, contractors, and global program leadership.
  • Proactive in identifying risks and ensuring corrective actions are implemented before execution.
