Overview Position: E-commerce Warehouse Operations Team Lead (Kill Devil Hills) Department: Amazon – 501/Internet Sales - 002 | Reports to: E-commerce Director | FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Company: Kitty Hawk Kites & Adventures Job summary: This is an intermediate level role within the Ecommerce department. This person manages the operations of the e-commerce warehouse with the e-commerce director and is responsible for inbound freight management and leading outbound shipping processing line. The operations team lead position requires understanding of all systems used by the department. Individual will be performing tasks in all systems “in season” and is expected to do what it takes to deliver product to the customer. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Lead warehouse staff to maintain efficient and productive workflow. Train receiving and processing crew members. Receive and locate inbound freight in the warehouse. Create purchase orders and receive products in inventory management software. Manage picking, which requires lifting heavy boxes and climbing ladders at times. Manage Quality Control Station: matching picked products with orders, validating, and prepping for packing stations. Manage Bulk Shipping Station: quality controlling all bulk orders, prepping products for bulk packing stations and printing shipping labels for bulk processor. Pack boxes using good judgement and following guidelines to protect products efficiently and cost effectively. Use software to weigh packages and print shipping labels; optimize for shipping rates and communicate cost concerns to the sales team when costs are excessive. Keep shipping processing line moving efficiently as possible as operations manager. Manage the receiving, inspecting, and processing of returns. 6-day work week required “in season.” Commitment to core values. Other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Experiences using various SAAS systems preferred. Skills Amazon, Walmart and/or other ecommerce experience a plus. Mathematical and analytical skills. Self-starter. Time-management. Attention to detail and thorough follow-up. Can work independently or as part of a team. Good communication skills. PC computer skills, Microsoft Windows, Outlook and Excel (Advanced Excel a plus). Ability to work without constant supervision. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Drivers require driver’s license. Working Conditions The work environment is generally indoor controlled warehouse. Noise level moderate; may be asked to work overtime and weekends during in-season. May be required to drive company vehicle to other locations. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours; duties involve standing, walking, reaching, pulling, climbing, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs; extensive computer use.
