They are building cutting-edge LLM-powered tools to supercharge the investment research process for private market investors. Their clients include several of the worlds top 10 private equity and consulting firms, and are responsible for investing billions of dollars annually. Were a profitable, bootstrapped company with a growing team of 12 based in London and NYC.

Role Description

As one of the first AI Engineer hires , youll have the unique opportunity to:

• Design and implement evaluation systems to measure LLM and agent performance across reasoning, accuracy, multi-turn dialogue, and tool use.
• Ideally publicize benchmark for specific use cases
• Build and open source a benchmark for evaluating LLM outputs on investment researchspecific tasks (e.g., synthesis quality, citation grounding).
• Design a prompt refinement system that ingests production signals or human labels and iteratively optimizes prompts for reliability and performance.
• Develop and maintain agentic tooling (e.g., research assistants, voice agents, deep research) that integrate external APIs, search, and speech technologies.
• Collaborate with research and product teams to productionize new prompting, retrieval, and multi-agent orchestration techniques.
• Prototype a lightweight voice agent framework with fast ASR/TTS integration and evals for latency, error recovery, and conversational flow.
• Contribute to product decisions, direction and prioritization

They are live with >20 enterprise clients, and already have 10s of thousands of calls on the platform. Theres lots of data to improve on and build.

About You

Were looking for product-minded ML engineers who:

• Based in NYC
• Are opinionated about their work and eager to contribute to product decisions
• Have strong communication skills and a desire for a client-facing role
• Are able to break down AI/ML problems for a non-technical audience clearly and succinctly, and translate their suggestions into testable experiments.
• Have experience building LLM systems from the ground up in a product-focused organization, and can help drive everything from data gathering / logging ? prompt optimizing
• Have a strong bias to action, highly organised and experienced working with senior stakeholders to deliver large projects end to end
