ROLE OVERVIEW

We are currently expanding our Los Angeles freelance pool and looking for experienced Online Editors to join our team on a temporary basis.

This role is finishing-focused, specifically for Theatrical, Broadcast, and social media delivery platforms. It is highly technical and ideal for someone with a keen eye for QC, a strong understanding of scopes, and solid skills in conforming and grading using DaVinci Resolve.

Please note this is not a creative editing role; the majority of work will involve machine-based editing, versioning, and localization workflows.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with our Account Managers, Graphics, and Audio teams to produce localized content for TV spots, trailers, featurettes, and promos for global territories within the film industry.
• Manage a high volume of deliverables for theatrical, broadcast, and digital platforms daily.
• Maintain a clean, organized workflow, ensuring accurate file naming and project management, while adhering to department workflow protocols.
• Conform and finish edits in DaVinci Resolve, including technical and basic creative grades for 2K theatrical and HD broadcast delivery.
• Perform QC checks using scopes and visual review before delivery.
• Contribute to a collaborative team of Online Editors in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Maintain a clean, organized workflow, ensuring accurate file naming and project management, while adhering to department workflow protocols.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro CC
• Intermediate to advanced experience in Adobe Media Encoder
• Intermediate to semi-advanced DaVinci Resolve skills
• Strong knowledge of RCM color space management
• Experience with basic/technical grading and match grading across multiple color spaces
• Confident in reading scopes and QC’ing footage for technical accuracy
• Understanding of subtitling workflows, including SRT/XML management
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously

This is a freelance, project-based role with work assigned on an as-needed basis.

Applicants must be Los Angeles-based and available to work on-site at our office. The hourly rate for this role is up to $50 per hour.
