Position Summary
As a Home-Based Casework Facilitator (1099 Contractor), you will play a critical role in supporting families involved with the child welfare system by providing hands-on, individualized services in their home and/or community environments. This opportunity is designed to help parents and caregivers develop the skills, routines, and strategies necessary to achieve stability, meet court-ordered goals, and promote healthy family dynamics.
Facilitators act as both mentors and educators—modeling appropriate behavior, demonstrating practical life skills, and guiding families through personal and systemic challenges. This includes addressing barriers related to parenting, employment, budgeting, time management, discipline, communication, and home organization. You will help clients create and follow through on goals that align with Department of Child Services (DCS) case plans, while also equipping them with tools for long-term success beyond involvement with the child welfare system.
This role requires high emotional intelligence, cultural humility, and a strong commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and evidence-based practice. Facilitators must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing their own schedules while producing high-quality documentation and timely reports. As an independent contractor, you’ll enjoy flexibility and autonomy while making a meaningful difference in the lives of the families you serve.
Core Responsibilities
Provide individualized, in-home coaching and support to families aligned with case plans.
Conduct assessments and develop service plans in collaboration with DCS case managers.
Deliver structured educational sessions focused on parenting skills, discipline, budgeting, household management, and goal setting.
Model and reinforce positive behaviors, routines, and communication.
Monitor client progress and provide regular, detailed documentation and reports.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and attend case reviews as needed.
Ensure services are culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strength-based.
Maintain flexible scheduling, including evening and weekend availability as needed.
Skills & Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or related field (required as a supervisor).
Must be at least 21 years of age
At least 4 years of full-time employment experience providing direct casework services to children and/or families that includes providing services to families that need assistance in the protection and care of their children.
Strong documentation, time management, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries.
Must pass background checks as required by DCS guidelines including (criminal, educational, references, employment and child protective services).
Shared life experiences and are familiar with the communities where they will be working
Must be able to carry appropriate caseloads.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to use a private car, with applicable insurance, to transport self and others.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with DCS protocols and Indiana child welfare services is preferred.
Willingness to drive within assigned counties.
Must maintain a variety of insurances as a 1099 contractor including general and professional liability, auto, etc.
Master’s Degree in social work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or related field (required as a supervisor).

Please Note: This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. As such, contractors are not employees and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits. Payment for services rendered is issued on a delayed payout schedule, as outlined in the service agreement. Contractors should review the contract in full prior to accepting the role to ensure understanding and acceptance of the compensation timeline and terms.
