Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their legal team. This role is a critical part of legal operations, primarily focused on supporting litigation matters and various legal projects across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support in-house attorneys in managing company litigation, including:
- Maintaining the litigation docket
- Issuing and tracking legal hold notices
- Coordinating and organizing documents for e-discovery
- Organize and maintain both electronic and physical litigation files
- Assist with the preparation, filing, and tracking of court submissions
- Draft and manage engagement letters with outside counsel
- Support settlement processes and assist with accrual reporting
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Finance, Credit, Accounts Payable) to provide legal and corporate support
- Assist with special projects
- Provide general administrative support
- Serve as a collaborative team member by supporting and backing up colleagues as needed
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma required; Additional college coursework or business school training preferred
- Paralegal certification required
- Minimum of 5 years supporting attorneys, ideally in a major law firm and/or corporate legal department
- Strong experience in complex litigation and e-discovery processes is highly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
- Advanced skills in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, charts) and PowerPoint presentations
- Skilled in using Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with e-discovery platforms
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as Practical Law Connect
- Experience with legal systems such as: Matter management software (e.g., Serengeti/Legal Tracker), Entity management platforms (e.g., hCue)
