Job Description

General Scope of Duties

Provide health consultation to the Children’s School. Incorporate recommendations from State Department of Public Health ( DPH ) and State Department of Education ( SDE ) into Children’s School practices and policies.

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Review all health forms/information parents provide to the Children’s School

• Review immunization records of all children and staff to ensure 100% compliance with State Department of Public Health ( DPH ).

• Review policies and procedures to ensure best practice around injury/accident prevention and promote wellness.

• Maintain Health Records in Educational File for all children

• Review the contents, storage and plan for the maintenance of first aid kits.

• Observe the indoor and outdoor environments for health and safety

• Observe children’s general health and development

• Observe diaper changing and toileting areas and diaper changing, toileting and hand washing procedures

• Staff Training

• Review policies and procedures and required documentation for the administration of medications, including petitions for special medications authorizations needed.

• Assist interview of individual care plans for children with special health care needs or children with disabilities.

• On call phone consultation

Education and Skills

• Maintain Registered Nursing (RN) License (Associate’s Degree minimum)

• Requires four years of experience

• Knowledge of HIPPA and FERPA

• Ability to participate in interdisciplinary team process

• Ability to be well organized

• Ability to sustain relationships

• No travel necessary
