Physical Security Specialist Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), TX ATS is seeking a qualified Physical Security specialist to support the Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Mission Training Complex (MTC). The position is responsible for access control into the MTC during both daily operations and exercises, ensuring only authorized personnel enter the facility and that they are appropriately badged to reflect their level of access. The role also supports Personnel Security, Security Awareness training, and the overall security policies and procedures at JBSA MTC to mitigate the risk of compromising national security information. Acting as an Alarm Monitor, the employee operates electronic security system equipment to monitor MTC security and safety posture, answers calls on a telephone console to receive assistance requests, and coordinates with MTC staff to enable Soldiers and other MTC customers to navigate the MTC to achieve their objectives. The employee follows established guidelines, scans status charts and computer screens to determine the security and safety posture of the MTC, monitors alarm system signals indicating fire or other emergencies, operates a two‑way radio to communicate with MTC staff and external agencies, types commands on a computer keyboard to update files and maintain logs, tests communications and alarm equipment, and backs up systems to ensure serviceability. The Security Specialist may provide pre‑arrival instructions to emergency personnel, activate alarm systems to notify fire stations, records security status on SF‑702 and the Security Container Check Sheet at the close of each shift or business day, and verifies the security of all vaults, secure rooms, and containers used for storing classified material. The employee will also conduct end‑of‑day security checks. Specific Duties Supports the MTC’s Physical Security, Personnel Security, Security Awareness training, and the overall security policies and procedures at JBSA MTC. Supports the enforcement of security policies and programs for the MTC Personnel Security Program to mitigate the risk of compromising national security information. Supports the development and implementation of policies and procedures, standards, and training for JBSA MTC Personnel Security mission as required by regulations and policies applicable to JBSA MTC’s mission.
