Salary: $21.50 hr

Job Title: Portuguese Family Support Worker (FSW)
Program: Family Support Worker Department
Reports to: Family Support Worker Coordinator

Position Summary: We are seeking a Portuguese interpreter (1099 contractor) to provide verbal interpretation fortherapists during family sessions, ensuring clear and accurate communication between familiesand clinicians. The interpreter will assist with translating treatment plans, updates to client status,and client progress based on measurable goals. Additional responsibilities may includeconducting quarterly consumer satisfaction surveys and identifying environmental orcommunication barriers that may impact client progress.This is an as-needed position that supports our Family Support Worker (FSW) departmentsmission to improve access and understanding for families with limited English proficiency.

Job Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Provide verbal interpretation for therapists and Portuguese-speaking families during
  therapy sessions.
• Assist families with translation of individual treatment plans and updates to client status.
• Translate client progress to therapists based on measurable goals outlined in treatment
  and care plans.
• Administer Quarterly Consumer Satisfaction Surveys and document results.
  Offer interpretation support during family advocacy, crisis intervention, or other service-
  related meetings as needed.
• Submit accurate invoices and documentation of services rendered.
  Communicate any language or environmental barriers impacting client progress.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical standards and professional guidelines.
  Perform additional interpretation-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement).
• Bachelors degree or certificate in Languages, Translation, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (preferred but not required).

Language Skills:

• Fluency in Portuguese and English (required).

Additional Requirements:

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be able to work as an independent contractor (1099).
• Must have or be able to obtain an LLC

Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor (Freelance)

Compensation: Based on assignment scope.
