The project is funded by NASA and involves collaboration with NASA, the Army Corps of Engineers, and other partners. Responsibilities Develop methods to fuse active and passive satellite remote‑sensing observations to detect snowmelt events. Evaluate derived snowmelt products against ground observations of snow properties. Prepare scientific manuscripts for publication in peer‑reviewed literature. Present research at scientific conferences and communicate findings to peers; attend workshops as appropriate. Assist in mentoring graduate students, where appropriate. Qualifications PhD in earth & environmental science, cryosphere science, environmental engineering, atmospheric science, applied mathematics, or a related field. Strong background in remote sensing, snow science, hydrology, GIS, and/or climate science. Prior remote‑sensing research experience is required. Proficient in statistical data analysis and scientific programming (Python, R, MATLAB, or similar). Experience with active microwave remote sensing, GIS, data assimilation, spatial statistics, statistical disaggregation/downscaling, or data‑science machine learning is an asset.
