The role is for a Pulmonary Disease - Critical Care Physician to lead outpatient clinical operations at the UPMC Comprehensive Lung Center. The physician will manage clinical workflows, maintain patient care, and support education for medical trainees while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Board certification in pulmonary and critical care medicine, as well as leadership and clinical expertise, are required for this position.

Director of Outpatient Clinical Operations

UPMC Comprehensive Lung Center

UPMC is seeking a dynamic pulmonary medicine clinician (general or subspecialty) to lead outpatient clinical operations for the UPMC Comprehensive Lung Center and affiliated practices.

In this role, you will partner with nationally recognized experts across asthma, COPD, CF, ILD, pulmonary vascular disease, sleep medicine, and transplantation. You’ll be supported by a strong management team, dedicated clinical staff, and on-site state-of-the-art PFT and sleep labs.

What You’ll Do:

Lead and optimize outpatient operations to ensure timely, efficient, high-quality care

Maintain a robust outpatient clinical practice

Collaborate with staff to solve operational challenges and improve workflows

Support a strong training environment for fellows, residents & students

Become an EpicCare superuser (experience helpful but not required)

Qualifications:

• Board Certification in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
• Current Pennsylvania medical licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Proven experience in a pulmonary/critical care setting preferred.
