Robotics Technician | Charlotte, MI

Salary Range: $61,000 - $93,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and calibration of robotic systems.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, and software issues in industrial robots.
  • Install, configure, and test new robotic equipment and peripheral devices.
  • Modify and optimize robot programs to enhance production efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure all robotic operations adhere to safety protocols and company standards.
  • Document maintenance activities, repair histories, and program changes accurately.
  • Provide technical support and training to production operators on robotic system operation.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related technical field
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with industrial robot maintenance, programming, and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in robot programming languages and teach pendant operation for major brands (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Universal Robots)
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and software issues
  • Basic understanding of PLC logic, HMI systems, and industrial networking
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence) for inspection or guidance.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data acquisition, analysis, or custom tool development.
  • Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET) and IIoT principles.
  • Ability to interpret CAD models or experience with robot simulation software.
