Summary

Scale House Operator will operate the scale to weigh incoming and outgoing loads, as necessary. Will also check driver paperwork prior to unloading to ensure truck is loaded to correct warehouse.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Checks driver paperwork prior to unloading to ensure truck is loaded to correct warehouse.

Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices and assist with any other duties assigned by Production Manager.

Required Skills


  • Follows requirements for Lock Out Tag Out, (LOTO)

  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Has a firm Knowledge of and adheres to food safety responsibilities.

  • Will work with Materials Manager and Customer Service Representatives to ensure timely, accurate communications to the appropriate personnel at our customers on the status of their shipments throughout the day.  

  • Will work with all concerned to improve the areas under your responsibility regarding employee safety, food safety, product quality, and efficiency.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of one-year experience, three years preferred and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Word Processing software; Contact Management systems and Spreadsheet software.
