This diverse range of structural engineering services helps improve mobility for the traveling public. Among its recent recognitions, VHB won seven awards at the American Council of Engineering, as well as Engineering News-Record’s 2024 New England Design Firm of the Year, recognizing its impactful development and infrastructure projects in the New England areaVHB is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic and growing Structures group on a flexible basis. In this position, you would support the planning, analysis, and design of a diverse portfolio of structural projects across New England.This role could be performed by a fully remote engineer who resides within the MA/RI/NH region and could travel to client sites when needed.ResponsibilitiesSupport, develop, organize and implements structural planning, analysis, preliminary and final design document preparation.Task managementReviews plans, specifications, reports, and analyses to meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.Skills And AttributesExtensive knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in structural engineeringDemonstrated excellence in technical writing.Team oriented with strong capability to work independently.Robust technical and critical thinking skillsDetail oriented and quality focusedStrong project management skillsMotivated to lead and mentor othersKnowledge of structural engineering softwareAutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation v8, Revit, OpenRoads, OpenBridge and/or Connect experience is a strong plusQualifications8-11 years of professional experience in structural bridge and building design required, construction phasing, and complex projects 11+ preferred.BS in Civil Engineering. Master’s Degree preferred.PE licensure required.We are VHB!
