Central Virginia General Surgery Locums Job Call Coverage in November & December 2025 + 2026 Dates Seeking Local Candidate
Jackson and Coker is partnered with a facility in central Virginia - a little under a 1.5 hour drive to Richmond that needs General Surgery call coverage support starting this November and ongoing. The client's ideal candidate would be a physician that is somewhat local and able to drive, however, they're open to reviewing candidates that need full travel as well. They are seeking one physician to add into their call coverage rotation and to cover both sets of dates, listed below. Going into 2026, they anticipate needing between 4-7 days per month of coverage ongoing.
Description/Requirements for Assignment :
Active and unrestricted Virginia license + DEA required
Board Certification and/or true Eligibility required for this opportunity
75+ bed facility, not a designated trauma center, Cerner EMR, located a little over an hour from Richmond
Bread & Butter General Surgery + including laparoscopic cases There are no scoping opportunities or requirements for this assignment
May have light trauma mixed in there is opportunity for more advanced laparoscopic cases
Will see an average of 18-20 PPD in clinic, have 1-2 new ED admissions/day, do 3-7 surgeries/week (this will likely increase in time)
Dates will be ongoing into 2026
