As part of the ASPCA's Community Medicine (CM) team, you will provide expert veterinary care to underserved pet owners through our stationary and mobile clinics. Your Role:
In the role of Veterinary Team Leader, you will foster the growth of both new and experienced veterinarians to ensure every patient receives exceptional care. Your focus will be on creating a positive and efficient work environment while making a real impact in the community.

Work Schedule:
This position typically follows a Monday - Friday schedule with occasional flexibility. You will primarily work on-site at the Community Veterinary Clinic, with required visits to other ASPCA locations based on needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor veterinary staff, ensuring adherence to high-quality care protocols.
  • Perform high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgeries and provide preventive care.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and provide guidance during difficult veterinary situations.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve ASPCA's mission and maintain a positive work culture.
  • Participate in administrative duties including staff scheduling and monthly meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Current California State Veterinary License.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in challenging situations.
  • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment.
  • Fear Free Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire.

Educational Background:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter.
  • At least three years of experience in small animal medicine and surgery.
