The Village Church (TVC) located at the Shell Point Retirement Community (SPRC) in Fort Myers, FL, is searching for their next Minister of Worship and Music. They are looking for someone who can bring glory to God through the music ministries of The Village Church in corporate worship and providing Christian nurture through the ministry of music.
This individual should have a theological understanding of worship and church ministry along with an appreciation of the varied denominational backgrounds of the members of TVC. Candidates should have a music degree with an emphasis in church music, music education, performance, composition, directing, or worship arts. They should have at least 10 years of experience directing and developing excellence in traditional church choirs along with the ability to direct both vocal and instrumental ensembles. It is preferred that candidates are credentialed through The Christian and Missionary Alliance or another like-minded evangelical denomination.
The Village Church is a congregation located within the Shell Point Retirement Community (SPRC) the largest continuous care retirement community in Florida. SPRC is owned and accredited by The Christian & Missionary Alliance, a theologically conservative protestant denomination, although residents have religious backgrounds in more than 30 Christian denominations, several other religions, and no religion. TVC is a vibrant senior community with attendance ranging from 450-500 in the winter season to 300-350 in the summer, with an estimated twenty percent watching on Shell Point Television from their residences. The ministry emphasizes strong expository preaching, excellence in music in both traditional and contemporary expressions, extensive small group Bible studies, outreach into the SPRC, service in the greater Fort Myers community, and a strong emphasis on international ministries.
